Fort Wayne, IN - The adVenture Fund, a project of FourthWave LLC, today announced a Technology Competition with a prize of $5,000. The competition is open to anyone in Northeast Indiana with an innovative technology idea.
"At the adVenture Fund we finance entrepreneurs who are developing new technology. Our goal is to help build our region's economic future by supporting inventors and technologists," said Donald R. Willis, Chairman, FourthWave LLC. "We view this contest as an opportunity to highlight the great innovation happening in Northeast Indiana."
"We make two promises to inventors," said Willis. "We won't steal your idea and we won't laugh."
There are two basic rules for the competition: the idea must be a new technology, not a new service; and the inventor must have the desire to commercialize the idea. The competition begins September 26 and applications are due by October 28, 2005.
In order to protect the confidential intellectual property of the inventor, applications will begin with a general description of the problem that the inventor seeks to solve rather than a detailed technical description. Application information is available on the adVenture Fund website:
CONTEST IS OVER - SEE RESULTS
The adVenture Fund began investing in 2005 and has since financed two technology companies in different fields: Bioduct, LLC, which is developing a solution to knee injuries, and, Gentec, which utilizes patented vacuum technology in high end ovens. The adVenture Fund aims to help fill the gap of pre-seed investing. Other projects have been approved for funding in the areas of hydraulics and motors.
